Un dialogue animé par un modérateur comprenant une courte présentation du conférencier suivie d’une période d’échanges avec un groupe limité d’experts, de professionnels du milieu et de citoyens intéressés. Cette séance de discussion vise à participer au rayonnement de la métropole à l’échelle locale et internationale en offrant un contact direct avec des acteurs reconnus du changement.

Une présentation des idées, visions, projets et meilleures pratiques en matière d’aménagement à partir d’une thématique d’actualité spécifique. La conférence est ouverte à l’ensemble de la communauté montréalaise.
McDowell, PLA, ASLA, LEED Green Associate, Landscape Architect, SmithGroupJJR
-Andrew’s McDowell vision as a designer is to create landscapes that provoke people’s interest in natural processes and to re-connect people with the natural environment. He has a particular passion for opportunities to integrate habitat into the built environment as well as integrating art and ecology. His experience as a designer and technical team leader includes projects oriented towards green infrastructure, ecological restoration/mitigation, and brownfield redevelopment. His contributions to re-creating habitat in the Great Lakes include multiple sites from the St. Clair River to the Western Lake Erie Basin, and many of the adjoining tributaries. Andrew’s green infrastructure experience includes whole-campus retrofits in Cincinnati to parking lot retrofits in Detroit. Beyond his professional work, he also is currently serving his fourth year as the chair of the Belle Isle Conservancy’s Natural Resources Committee and is in his third year leading a sustainability task force for SmithGroupJJR.

Lori is passionate about bringing people together with the natural environment through the inventive, yet functional design of vital public spaces. As a Principal Landscape Architect at SmithGroupJJR with 20 years’ experience, Lori seeks to leverage vacant or underutilized spaces as a catalyst for meaningful place-making in urban areas. With a unique understanding of the project context, Lori is able to instill large-scale transformational change through a network of incremental, community-based projects that successfully synthesize the unique needs, perspectives and realities of clients and the community. Lori frequently serves as co-instructor for the University of Michigan Metro Studio.
